Stan Lee's Cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Unveiled

Stan Lee has appeared in every Marvel movie produced by Disney, so don't think for a moment that he's sitting out Disneyland's first ride based in this ever sprawling universe. The Marvel boss and creator of so many iconic superheroes is indeed included in the newly launched Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride that sits in the middle of Disney's California Adventure. And we have a photo below to prove it.

The photo comes courtesy of an innocent bystander on Instagram, who snapped the pic. The ride just opened at Disneyland's theme park adjacent to Disneyland. And it features all of the Guardians. The story revolves around Rocket Raccoon attempting to break Star-Lord and his other pals out of The Collector's fortress. The ride replaced the fan-favorite Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

The ride itself is a free-fall elevator that drops from the top of the Fortress as »

Silver Sable and Black Cat Story Leaks, More Spider-Man Characters Coming?

Sony is hellbent on creating a cinematic universe full of Spider-Man characters, but without actually including Spider-Man in the universe, since he is tied up over at Marvel Studios. Granted, nobody seems to be upset about that part. At least right now. Not only is the studio releasing an R-rated Venom movie, but they just announced that Gina Prince-Bythewood is set to direct Silver and Black, the spin-off based on the characters Silver Sable and Black Cat. Now, it looks like we may have some plot details for the movie and, if they are legitimate, would mean that some other key characters are going to be along for the ride.

Before we dig in, this is coming from an unverified source, so you may want to take this with several very large grains of moose dip. Very large. That said, the news comes courtesy of Splash Report who got the »

Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Is Not Connected to the McU

Disney is getting ready to unveil their latest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout, on the eager public soon. The ride is taking the place of Disney's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride that had been a staple of Disney's California Adventure for years. There are tons of cool Easter eggs and fun things for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to enjoy, as revealed during a recent preview of the attraction. But don't get too excited over some of the things being teased in the ride, because it is not actually part of the McU.

Joe Rohde, a creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering who helped create the ride, recently spoke with i09 about Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout. Because James Gunn directed and helped create the attraction, with the stars of the movie turning up to play their respective parts, it was reasonable to assume that »

Proof Rey Is Reincarnated in The Last Jedi?

Will any of the mysteries surrounding the new characters introduced in The Force Awakens be revealed in Star Wars: The Last Jedi? We know that Snoke's big unveiling won't happen until Star Wars 9. But what about Rey's parentage? Her backstory? Anything? Well, Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that Rey gets to keep Luke's old blue lightsaber, which once belonged to his father Anakin Skywalker. That should come as no surprise. As we've seen Rey using the lightsaber to train in the first Star Wars 8 teaser. And she's brandishing it on all of the merchandise that has been released thus far. But it's what Lucasfilm Story Group creative executive Pablo Hidalgo recently said to Vanity Fair that has some fans raising their eyebrow. Could a long-standing rumor about Rey be true?

When The Last Jedi began production last year, rumors started to spread that Rey is reincarnated. And that will be the big reveal in the movie. »

Paddington 2 Is Getting a Wide Release in 2018

The Weinstein Company has given the long-awaited sequel Paddington 2 a new release date today, setting the movie for January 12, 2018. This puts it in roughly the same frame as the original Paddington movie, which hit theaters on January 16, 2015. As of now, Paddington 2 will go up against Lionsgate's action-thriller The Commuter, starring Liam Neeson and Studio 8's White Boy Rick, starring Matthew McConaughey. It will also fall between Insidious 4 on January 5 and Den of Thieves and Horse Soldiers on January 19.

Deadline reports that The Weinstein Company made the move for this slot after Paramount moved its own family-friendly project, Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes from January 12, 2018 to March 23, 2018. For now, Paddington 2 is the only family movie slated for release on that date, which falls over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. Of course, release dates shift all the time, but since the original movie found success in that frame, »

Star Wars 8 Lego Sets Reveal Snoke's New Look, Evil Bb-8 and More

Following a week of big Last Jedi reveals, we have some more cool intel for this impending Star Wars sequel. Lego sets that will be hitting stores this September, as part of the annual Force Friday event, have leaked. And the two biggest takeaways are a new look for Snoke and Imperial Bb-8 doppelgangers going by the name Bb-9e.

These Lego sets also confirm the return of the At-at Walkers. We'd previously heard that these new machines would be called Gorilla Walkers due to their simian-upgrades, which include a huge flaw fix that no longer allows the Walkers to be taken down by any old Jedi with a really long spool of wire. These new At-ATs are actually called the 'First Order Heavy Assault Walker', and as you can see in the Tweets below, they come with some cool new Mini-Figs that include Rey in a look we've already seen, »

Weird Al Celebrates Star Wars 40th Anniversary with Rare Yoda Demo

26 May 2017 6:11 PM, PDT

There were many ways to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars yesterday, but none quite as fun as a good old-fashioned "Weird Al" jam. Al shared his 1981 demo for his hit Star Wars parody song "Yoda" from the Dare to be Stupid album released in 1985. The demo first popped up on the Dr. Demento Radio Show in 1981 and it had the instrumentation Al was using at the time, meaning that the song is performed on an accordion and uses hand farts and a suitcase for percussion. The song was written after Al saw The Empire Strikes Back and is told through the eyes of Jedi-in-training, Luke Skywalker.

"Weird Al" released the demo for "Yoda" on his official YouTube account for the 40th anniversary of A New Hope and also to promote his epic box set that contains all of his 14 studio albums and a separate album of rarities. The »

26 May 2017 5:41 PM, PDT

Dwayne Johnson seems to be immune to failure, even when critics generally agree that one of his movies is terrible. The movie in question? Baywatch. Despite the critical lashing, it looks like we may be seeing Baywatch 2 washing up in theaters, according to one of the producers, Beau Flynn.

While speaking with Variety, Beau Flynn revealed that the writing team Damian Shannon and Mark Swift are already working on the story for Baywatch 2. He also revealed that the principal cast members, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron will return, should Paramount decided to actually move ahead with the sequel. There's No Romance in Last Jedi, But Poe and Finn May Hook-Up Later

26 May 2017 4:26 PM, PDT

The Last Jedi director Riann Johnson revealed this week that there will not be an epic love story in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This may come as a shock to fans expecting an onscreen romance between Finn and Poe, or Rey and Finn, much like Han Solo and Leia's in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Even Attack of the Clones worked as a love story with varying degrees of success. It looks like we might have to wait until Star Wars 9 to see the romance between Chewie and Maz Kanata. Anything is possible...

While speaking to Vanity Fair, Johnson explained that there wouldn't be any major romances that are the equivalent of Solo and Leia's love. Johnson says this.

"[There will be] no one-to-one equivalent of the Han-to-Leia, burning, unrequited love. In our story, that's not a centerpiece."

Ok, we get it. Johnson really is trying »

Vulture Goes Ballistic in New Spider-Man: Homecoming Preview

26 May 2017 3:02 PM, PDT

Sony Pictures has unleashed a new TV spot for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which features a few interesting scenes that revisit Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) debut in Captain America: Civil War. We see footage of Peter Parker (Tom Holland) getting his new suit, presumably just before the iconic airport battle in Captain America: Civil War. We also see footage of Spidey recording himself in a cell phone video, as he's hiding out of sight before the airport battle takes place. When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) calls out "Underroos," Peter puts down the phone and says he has to go, as we see him leap into action and steal Captain America's shield, from a different vantage point. But perhaps cooler than all that is we get to see Michael Keaton's Vulture step out of the shadows to become one of Parker's greatest foes yet!

There had been rumors that Captain America »

It was officially announced earlier this week that Zack Snyder would be stepping down from Justice League due to a death in the family, and that Batgirl director Joss Whedon will be taking his place. The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment community and an outpouring of support went towards Snyder and his family. Snyder made the announcement to keep rumors from popping up about the real reason that the he left the project at such a pivotal point and also to share his support for Whedon. It was reported that Whedon had already spent some time on the upcoming project, but nobody knew how much time Whedon had previously invested.

The decision to bring Whedon on was simple. It had already been previously reported that Whedon was involved in the writing and additional reshoots anyway. But now we have official word from Dceu producer Charles Roven. Roven spoke to »

Wonder Woman Has No Deleted Scenes

26 May 2017 1:26 PM, PDT

Exactly one week from today, Wonder Woman will finally hit theaters, marking the first time this iconic heroine has had her own live-action theatrical movie. As historic as that is, director Patty Jenkins revealed that her movie accomplished a rather impressive feat, stating in a new interview that hardly anything ended up on the cutting room floor, and that there aren't any actual deleted scenes. Here's what she had to say in a new interview.

"You know, it's not like a long journey didn't happen but what amazes me is how little has actually changed from the first cut other than tightening. Little changes to the final battle, that was really it. I think that what I ended up finding about the final battle was I was hitting emotional points for Diana that I really wanted to hit but I felt a craving for some other kinds of emotional gratification »
